DW Neil Peart R30 30th Anniversary Commemorative Drum Kit – #3 of 30

DW Neil Peart R30 30th Anniversary Commemorative Drum Kit – #3 of 30

Complete S.S. Professor Replica with Neil Peart & John Good Signed Certificate of Authenticity
An exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire one of the most significant Neil Peart signature drum kits ever produced.

This is #3 of only 30 DW Neil Peart R30 30th Anniversary Commemorative Drum Kits, created as replicas of Peart's legendary “S.S. Professor” kit used during Rush's 2004 R30 30th Anniversary Tour.
Produced by Drum Workshop in conjunction with Guitar Center, Sabian and Pro-Mark, the R30 Commemorative Kit was an extraordinarily ambitious limited-edition project. The acoustic portion of Peart's R30 touring setup was recreated with its elaborate custom graphics, extensive 24-karat gold-plated DW hardware, three matching snare drums and complete complement of Sabian Paragon cymbals.
This particular example is R30 Kit #3 of 30 and has been inventoried against the original component list. The kit is complete with the exception of the original commemorative Pro-Mark drumsticks.
Most importantly, the kit includes its original Certificate of Authenticity, personally signed by Neil Peart and DW's John Good. The original certificate shown in the photographs will accompany the kit.

The S.S. Professor
Neil Peart's R30 kit was known as the S.S. Professor, a reference to Peart's longtime nickname, “The Professor.”
The original was designed for Rush's 2004 R30 Tour celebrating the band's 30th anniversary. Its instantly recognizable appearance combined imagery representing Rush's history with dramatic dark panels, red accents and extensive gold-plated hardware.

Drums
All drums feature the distinctive R30 custom graphics with gold-plated hardware.

Matching Snare Drums
Three matching DW snare drums are included:
• 6x14" DW Edge Snare
• 5.5x14" DW Solid-Ply Maple Snare
• 3.5x13" DW Collector's Series Piccolo Snare
The 6x14" Edge is the primary snare in the R30 setup. The 5.5x14" Solid-Ply Maple snare was supplied as an alternate main-snare option and is therefore not normally positioned within the complete R30 setup.
For the photographs, we have displayed the Solid-Ply Maple snare alongside the complete kit so that all three matching snares can be seen together. It is sitting on a non-gold-plated snare stand solely for display purposes. This additional stand is not part of the R30 package and is not included in the sale.
Original Heads
Remarkably, the kit retains its original drumheads.
The original heads have been played, as would be expected from a kit that has seen use.
The 6x14" Edge snare batter head has been replaced with a new Remo Coated Ambassador.
Otherwise, the original heads remain with the kit. Please refer closely to the photographs for their condition.
24K Gold-Plated DW Hardware
The package includes its extensive collection of specially prepared 24-karat gold-plated DW hardware, replicating the acoustic layout of Peart's R30 setup.
Included are:
• DW 9100M tripod throne
• DW 9300 snare stand
• DW 9002 double pedal with case
• DW 9500TB hi-hat stand
• Seven DW 9700 cymbal stands
• Modified DW 9303 piccolo-snare stand with 9700 tripod

All of the original gold-plated hardware supplied with this numbered R30 kit has been inventoried and is present. The Cowbell tree is not gold-plated. For what we can see from images of these kits some of the cowbell trees were gold plated and some where not.
Sabian Paragon Cymbals
The kit includes its complete Sabian Paragon Neil Peart cymbal package:
• 8" Paragon Splash
• Two 10" Paragon Splashes
• 13" Paragon Hi-Hats
• 14" Paragon Hi-Hats

• 22" Paragon Ride
The Paragon series was developed by Sabian in collaboration with Neil Peart and became an integral part of his later Rush setups.
An Extraordinary Piece of Neil Peart History
The R30 Commemorative Kit is much more than a conventional artist-signature drum set.
DW attempted to reproduce one of Neil Peart's most visually spectacular touring kits as a genuine collector's instrument. Contemporary promotional material announced the project as a collaboration between Guitar Center, Drum Workshop, Sabian and Pro-Mark, with just 30 numbered examples offered.
For the serious Rush, Neil Peart or DW collector, this represents an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire one of the most elaborate commemorative drum kits ever produced.
Condition & Important Notes
Please examine the detailed photographs carefully for its current cosmetic condition.
The original heads remain on the drums and show evidence of use. The Edge snare batter has been replaced with a new Remo Coated Ambassador.
